I recently took an online associate degree class to explore the career of a paralegal. I have always wanted to work in a law firm. I thought it be exciting to really delve into a case to find out the facts, figures, and the reasons of why someone did what they did. Creating a strategy after investigating the case, and then getting it organized enough to support the lawyer would be an excellent career for me, especially because it encompassed a lot of things I am interested in.
If I were to get my associate degree in paralegal training, it would add a lot of credibility to my pursuit of a job in the field. And because people do not always make the right choices, the paralegal field is a growth field and one that is recession proof. People will always need someone that has an ethical background, with a basis in the law. It would not come with all of the pressure that a lawyer endures, as they are licensed to practice law. But it would be an integral part of the whole process. Additionally, it would not have to be just in a criminal setting, but it could be in any setting – a corporation, school, really anything!
